"The Child should live in an environment of beauty” Maria Montessori
Our Story
Little Sweethearts Montessori opened its first house for children on February 14th 2007. This first LSM house for children was created to provide a beautiful place for children. Our founding focus has changed little over the past seven years. We have grown up a little now having three Little Sweethearts Montessori houses for children, the Beginners Nest for children under 2, our very own Love Montessori magazine (link to latest edition below), and home-grown Montessori training service to support the growth and development of our own and other Montessori Practitioners.
Little Sweethearts Montessori has made a difference to countless lives of children over the years and we are proud to be continuing in the same tradition, ensuring that our own home-grown brand of Montessori remains true to the goals and aims set by Maria Montessori. This means we remain focused on each individual child, helping them to realise their own potential as they develop the ability to concentrate and self-regulate, the all-important attribute that can only be truly developed in the early childhood years and essential for success at school and their proceeding years. These attributes that all teachers love to see was the sole focus of Maria Montessori’s work with children. As she developed her method she stumbled on something remarkable; the essential elements that help to develop these outcomes for children which we now call the Montessori method.
The Montessori Method is like a favourite family recipe that has been handed down through the generations and it is our privilege to hand it on to you.
